New Leaf Academy Girls
Support Arthritis Foundation

Last December, when temperatures plummeted to below zero levels, the New Leaf Academy community service tradition of annual student participation in the Jingle Bell Run for Arthritis was put on hold due to weather cancellation.

Not to be deterred, the event was renamed the "Springle Run-Walk", and was held Saturday, April 5th at the Pine Nursery Park in Bend.

32 New Leaf girls participated in the event which raises funds for the Arthritis Foundation. In typical New Leaf fashion, after the girls had finished the course, they gathered to cheer on those competitors battling the disease as they crossed the finish line.

Foundation officials said it was "an inspiring and tear-filled moment" for everyone involved.
