New Leaf Academy of Oregon, a therapeutic boarding school for girls ages 10 to 14, recently appointed Sarah Casson Rush as its new admissions director to work with families and professionals seeking help for middle school-aged girls with behavioral, emotional and learning issues.

"I am looking forward to the opportunity to get more families, professionals and educational consultants aware of what New Leaf can do for struggling girls," said Casson Rush. "I'm even more excited about getting to know the students. Being on campus allows me to join groups, share meals and really build a rapport with the girls."

What has stood out most to Casson Rush about the boarding school is the loving, safe and home-like atmosphere at New Leaf Academy of Oregon, where kids get to be kids while attending school, participating in extracurricular activities, working with a therapist and honing their social skills.

As admissions director, Casson Rush will handle admissions calls, promote the academy, build a network in the industry and educate families about what they can do to help their daughters in a time of crisis.

"It's never easy for parents to place their little girls in a boarding school environment away from home," said Robbi O'Kelley, MSW, LCSW, CADCII, executive director at New Leaf Academy of Oregon. "Sarah's forte is being there for families at a time when they have enormous decisions to make. She goes to great lengths to make sure New Leaf is the right program for each family and to let parents and their daughters know there's someone out there that cares, not only when they admit their daughter but throughout every stage of the process."

"I want families to know I'm available to them whenever they need me," said Casson Rush. "Whether they have one question or 70 questions, I'm here to hold their hands during what can be a very difficult time."
