On behalf of the Board of Trustees of the Becket Family of Services, it is with great excitement that I announce that Gregory Vogel, M.A. has been named Executive Director of the Mountain Valley Treatment Center (MVTC). Located in Pike, New Hampshire, MVTC is a non-profit, comprehensive, short-term residential treatment program for adolescents who are suffering through anxiety and related disorders. Greg's appointment comes in response to the rapid growth that MVTC has experienced in the past year, and the need for omnipresent oversight - a hallmark of Greg's leadership style. I have known Greg for nearly a decade and he is a positive, energetic leader for whom I have the highest regard.

Greg arrived in the Upper Valley in 1999 as the Assistant Coach of the Dartmouth College Men's Soccer Team and a member of Dartmouth's Development Office Team. For the past seven years, he has served as the much beloved Associate Headmaster at the Oliverian School, where his priorities included faculty development, oversight of residential life, student support and, in collaboration with the Headmaster, general management of daily operations. Greg earned his BA at Alfred University and his Masters Degree in Administration at Western Maryland College.

As part of his MVTC responsibilities, Greg and his wife, Vajra, will also oversee our equestrian program which provides important exposure opportunities for our residents. Through our affiliate, the Upper Valley Stewardship Center, this program serves not just our residents, but also students from other area schools and programs. The UVSC is currently developing a new equestrian center just a few minutes from our campus. This will allow us to supplement our existing barn and trail system with an indoor riding facility as well as additional stalls.

Nearly two years ago, Dan Villiers, Ph.D., Founder and Admissions Director approached me with the concept to develop an anxiety specific treatment program. With the support of our Board, the concept was refined and further developed in 2011 by a team that included Dr. Villiers, Carl Lovejoy (now Director of Operations), Jen Fullerton LICSW, M.ED. (now Treatment Coordinator) and Will White, DA, LICSW, MLADC (Program Consultant). We have had a very successful first year of operation, but continue to focus on opportunities for further improvement. As we have grown, Dr. Villiers has necessarily spent more and more time on the road assessing prospective residents for admission. This has resulted in the need for additional site-based leadership support and over the summer I approached Greg about his potential interest in this opportunity. I know that MVTC will benefit from Greg's involvement, especially in the area of staff professional development and inspirational leadership. I know this team very much appreciates the opportunity to work with Greg and to have their skills further supplemented by such a talented and character focused individual. I would also like to thank Randy Richardson, Headmaster at the Oliverian School, for working closely with us to enable this transition.

Please join us in welcoming Greg and his family to the Mountain Valley Treatment Center!
