Located on a 1,800 acre nature preserve and working farm, Mountain Valley is one of only a few residential treatment centers in the United States that focuses exclusively on the specialized needs of adolescents between 13 and 20 years of age with anxiety disorders. Founded in 2011, this short-term, residential program requires students to face their problems through appropriate challenges on a daily basis as recommended in their individualized treatment plan.
Dr. Daniel Villiers, founder of Mountain Valley Treatment Center, received his dual PhD in Counseling and School Psychology from Northeastern University and is a member of both the American Psychological Association and the Anxiety Disorders Association of America. He has been treating teens and young adults for over ten years.
Residents participate in individual and group therapy, both CBT and DBT, as well as indoor and outdoor therapeutic recreation, allowing them to address personal challenges and fears. They learn to build the skills and gain confidence to overcome their anxiety and life challenges. Recreational therapeutic activities include hiking, farming and horseback riding in the White Mountain National Forest of New Hampshire.
Mountain Valley TC is a member of NATSAP and academic support is provided by Knower Tutoring, LLC.
