The Monarch Center's upcoming work/study project for youth, ages 12-18 years old is "The Hopi Indian Reservation Leadership Expedition", March 22-28, 2009.
This event will be a 6 night/7 day expedition with a focus on:
Learning leadership, communication and relationship skills as part of a group of youth working together.
Distributing wood to supply heat to the reservation for the remainder of the winter months.
Learning about the role of community in cultures that have survived for thousands of years.
Learning the ancient wisdoms and customs of the Hopi Elders.
Visiting Walpi, one of the oldest continuously inhabited villages in the United States.

For Youths, ages 12-18
Cost: $750.00 per student
Transportation from Georgetown, CO, all meals and lodging are included.
