Michael Conner, PsyD, advocate for Educational Consulting and Youth Intervention Programs, receives international recognition for intervention work and public education award from Oregon Psychological Association.
On May 27, 2007, Dr. Conner agreed to design and co-direct a comprehensive youth intervention for Taiwanese children in the Republic of China. The program, Healing Journey, will include an integrated therapeutic boarding school, ropes course, adventure program, wilderness therapy and vocational training program. This will be the world's first combined program and will be based on best practices in the Unites States. This opportunity followed 10 days of training and consultation provided by Dr. Conner in China. The training was based on his work since the mid-1990's and his book Crisis Intervention with Adolescents: A Guide for Parents and Professionals. During Conner's visit the Taiwanese Ministry of Health negotiated successfully to translate and republish Crisis Intervention with Adolescents in Chinese.
May 19, 2007 the Oregon Psychological Association gave Dr. Conner its first Public Education Award. He received a Professional and Public Service award from the American Mental Health Alliance in 2001.
Dr. Conner is a long time advocate for educational consultants and is actively involved in conducting research that has recently been recognized by the American Psychological Association and published by the National Psychologist.
Michael Conner, PsyD, is licensed to practice psychology in the State of Oregon.
