Medicine Horse Program will be conducting an "urban retreat" October 9-11, 2009 which will focus on cultivating mindfulness and stress reduction in everyday life.
This weekend program is modeled on the program developed 30 years ago by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical School and melds together this model with the powerful presence and authentic relationship that horses can bring to our lives. The combination of mindfulness practice and horse focused experiences provide a unique avenue for stress reduction and self-discovery.
Horses are masters of the present moment, are in tune with their senses, and know no other way to be than in their bodies. Thus horses are amazing teachers on the journey to mindfulness and stress reduction.
