Marla Simon is pleased and excited to announce the opening of her Menlo Park, California office. After taking a hiatus from this important work, Marla recognized the strong need for the services she offers. Marla has been serving families since 1990. Most recently she was the owner of Educational Options operating out of Cleveland, Ohio and San Diego, California. As an educational and therapeutic placement consultant/Parent Coach/Case Manager, Ms. Simon will be serving family locally and nationwide.

Marla holds a master's of social science administration (MSSA) from Case Western Reserve University. She is also a Certified Parent Coach focusing her work with families of teens and young adults. Working from a strength based perspective, Marla guides families towards solutions that are focused on their particular family circumstances. As an administrator of the Meyers Briggs Type Inventory and the Strengths inventories, families will also have the opportunity to gain more knowledge into their families patterns of functioning.

Ms. Simon regularly participates in continuing educational workshops in order to further her knowledge associated with the varied issues that teens and young adults are challenged with. Marla continually builds her knowledge base by participating in a variety of organizations and is a recipient of the Woodbury Reports Excellence in Education Award.

Prior to entering the field of Educational Consulting, Marla founded the family resource center at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital and the Family Advocacy Network Support System working with families struggling with ADHD, LD and Autistic Spectrum Disorders. For over 12 years, Educational Options served families seeking to find alternative educational and therapeutic options for struggling child, teen or young adult. Referrals to wilderness programs, supportive day/ boarding schools for students with learning differences, therapeutic boarding schools, emotional growth schools, and residential treatment centers along with case management and transitional services provided.
