After several months of preparation, it is with great excitement that we introduce these changes to you. Please let me first introduce to you Sean Maynard, CMHC, who will be serving as the Program Director. Sean has been with us for nearly ten years, has extensive training in DBT and is a certified equine therapist. Maple Rise has been created on a foundation of DBT; to assist students in gaining skills to better manage emotions, navigate through adolescence in positive ways, and to create healthy and balanced lives for themselves.
Maple Rise Academy is a 12 bed program which is a separate girls' facility with specific focus on learning DBT skills, increasing self-esteem, and developing and maintaining healthy relationships. It also offers: - A friendly and nurturing home like environment,
- Activities and meals planned by students (with oversight from the director),
- A recently remodeled large home with majestic views,
- Individual, group, and family therapy, with several thematic groups available,
- Mini-horses cared for by the girls,
- Equine therapy,
- A fully certified school at Logan River Academy (students will attend gender specific classes with two coed classes daily),
- A therapeutic approach to the milieu with students contributing in the process of finding healthy and appropriate resolutions,
- Service opportunities in the community,
- Off-campus activities including skiing, hiking, camping, visits to national parks, and more.
These are only a few of the exciting aspects and clinical focuses of our program. We invite you to visit and witness these changes for yourself and feel the excitement and passion that we have for this program. Please contact Heather Capson, Admissions Director, or myself with questions or to schedule a tour and visit our website at maple-rise.com.
