I am writing to update you on the transition plan and search for a new Executive Director for Cherokee Creek Boys School. I will keep you informed and share information as we search for and find our new Director. Please be reassured that our first priority on campus is to provide continuity and stability for everyone during the transition time.

I have asked a long-time associate, Lorrie Harrison, to join the CCBS team beginning July 5th, to serve as Transition Team Leader, picking up many of the Executive Director's duties. Lorrie is not a candidate for the Executive Director position, but instead is being asked to bring her professional skills and warm presence to campus and support the team at this time.

Lorrie has been a marketing and management consultant serving education, corporate, and non-profit clients for over 30 years. She taught English in Bogota, Colombia for two years, has been an adjunct professor of Florida State University teaching marketing and communication to teachers and administrators. She also serves as a member of the adjunct faculty at Western Washington University teaching writing and community building.

Lorrie has two grown sons, one of whom is a graduate of the BENCHMARK program in California. She has experience with special needs children and home schooled her eldest son for two years. Her award-winning book, Kindred Spirits, is about the people and life on Lopez Island, her home in Washington State. Currently, she is working on a documentary film called Small Change, helping people slow down and live with ease and simplicity.

Meanwhile, as I mentioned in my last letter, our search committee has begun the process of finding our new Executive Director. Our committee consists of some very talented and wise, friends and professionals who understand the essence of Cherokee Creek and will find the right person. Our search committee bios are listed below.

THANKS for your support as we proceed through this transition and we appreciate any referrals for candidates for our Executive Director position.
