After 51 years of serving young men with learning and attention issues on its Northfield, Massachusetts campus, Linden Hill School announced on Monday, May 7, 2012 that it will close its doors at the conclusion of this school year, June 8, 2012.

Chair of the Board of Trustees, Mr. David Cullenberg stated, "We have battled the financial pressures of running a small junior boarding school program for over fifty years. Unfortunately, the current costs associated with maintaining facilities and competitively operating a small, specialized school have become prohibitive. Therefore the Board of Trustees has voted to close the doors of the School after the completion of this academic year."

Headmaster, Mr. James A. McDaniel shared, "We are deeply saddened that we must make this decision regarding a school that has helped so many fine young men and their families. Our tradition has been a proud one as the oldest junior boarding school in America for boys with learning differences. We hope that through each of us who has been affiliated with our school, its legacy will live on."

Linden Hill School is a national leader in the education of middle school age boys with language-based learning differences. Since 1961, Linden Hill has succeeded teaching boys of high potential who are experiencing academic failure due to attention issues; typically due to a language based learning disability. Other challenges such as ADD/HD, Expressive and Receptive Language Disorders, Nonverbal Learning Disabilities and Executive Function deficits may also contribute to this inability to attend.
