Liahona Academy

Liahona Academy is a therapeutic boarding school in Southern Utah that works with junior high and high school aged boys who are between 12-17 years of age. It was developed to help teens who are headed on a self-destructive path. Their students are those who are experiencing problems with depression, drugs, alcohol, academic difficulties, poor social skills, problems with authority, and “teens who are following “their own path” regardless of who they are hurting.”

“Providing teens with the tools they need to reach the potential they posses is the main objective of the Liahona Academy.” Their program is based on academics, therapy, vocational training and recreation, and they believe that bringing families together and healing the delicate bond is part of the recovery phase. One way that the Liahona Academy accomplishes is by giving families a step by step progress report, which is available on line with a protected password.

“Liahona Academy provides boys with the social skills, strength, and confidence they need to reject negative influences” providing a well-structured program that includes: individualized academic instruction, individual and group therapy with licensed therapists, daily behavior evaluations, workshops, group activities, including hiking and campouts within Southern Utah at Bryce Canyon & Zion National Park, daily physical fitness that includes nutrition counseling as well as fitness training, personal development courses and vocational training.
