Legacy Trek is a non-profit organization newly formed in collaboration with World Educational Consulting and the Emerge College Success Program to offer international adventures for students who have experienced learning, emotional, behavioral and/or recovery challenges. The program will offer reduced fees and travel grants to students and families who have been financially impacted by the costs of previous therapeutic placements or those who otherwise would not be able to participate.

Legacy Trek announces an inaugural trek to Offa's Dyke National Path on the English and Welsh Border! Future program components will include additional 10 Day International Treks, 21 Day Adventure Treks - Croatia (June 25th - July 15) - , and full Gap Semesters to be announced soon! As an example of Legacy Trek's 10 day excursions see below:

10 Day England / Wales

This trek itinerary is designed to give participants an excellent connection to the cultural, landscape, and educational experiences that can be expected from various trekking routes in England or continental Europe. From a personal growth perspective the trek is intended to allow students individually, or student - parent(s) together, the opportunity to engage in a transformational legacy building experience with the guidance of Dr. Mark Burdick, Licensed Psychologist, Andrew Bryan, Educational Consultant, and Dr. Donald Chance, Field Guide and former professor at Virginia Tech.

The itinerary starts in Chepstow just northeast of the Welsh capital of Cardiff and hikes you along the border of Wales and England incorporating sections of the famous Offa's Dyke. This trip will include the first 6 days of this designated English rambling path. Participants will experience a variety of village types and sizes, and cultural/historic resources. They will also experience a variety of landscape settings including skirting the Brecon Beacons Park.
