Gil Hallows announces the launching of Legacy Outdoor Adventures, a wilderness treatment program for young adult males. Gil has brought together a team of experienced leaders in the field of outdoor treatment who have created a program that integrates the most effective components of adventure therapy into the powerful setting of the wilderness to guide young men through the difficult transition to responsible adulthood. The team includes Troy Faddis, Clinical Director, Ray Barlow, Program and Admissions Director, and Larry Bray, Operations Director.

The Legacy model is based on research-substantiated methodologies drawn from wilderness and adventure therapy, and utilizes evidence-based practices through the daily milieu. Weekly adventures, such as exploring slot canyons and climbing peaks, take place in the beautiful red-rock country and high mountains surrounding the base of operations in Loa, Utah. Each young man develops a Life Success Plan, grounded in a thorough assessment picture, that guides his progression through the program, informs his aftercare planning, and becomes his vision of "the man I want to be" that he takes with him from Legacy.

Legacy Outdoor Adventures is operated exclusively by its owners. "It is exciting to be fulfilling a vision to provide the most effective wilderness therapy by creating the most engaged team of professionals, where all decision are made by the people who are delivering the program," states Gil. The Legacy team is guided by a belief in the principles of the healing power of wilderness, quality clinical therapy, a strength-based approach to working with clients, effective recovery, the use of adventure to engage clients in their own treatment process, full involvement of the family on the treatment team, allowing clients their agency, and the journey to responsible adulthood.

Legacy works with young men who are challenged with emotional or behavioral issues; are dealing with substance abuse or addictive behaviors; lack motivation, self-confidence or sense of purpose; and are struggling to complete the transition to adulthood.
