Lake House Academy welcomes Peggy Moore as our Director of Education. Peggy brings a wealth experience to the Educational Team of Lake House Academy. She has completed all work, except the dissertation, toward a Doctorate in Special Education from Vanderbilt University. She also holds as Master's degree in Social Studies Education from Vanderbilt.

A specialist in working with children with both behavioral and learning disabilities, Peggy has over 36 years of experience in a variety of school settings. She has served as the Director of Education and a Program Administrator in therapeutic programs. She later served as the Coordinator of Special Education Internships at UNC Charlotte where she trained teachers to work with children with special needs. She holds current North Carolina licenses for Cross Categorical (K-12), Behaviorally/Emotionally Disabled (K-12), Learning Disabled (K-12) and Social Studies (9-12).

For those who know Susan Hardy, don't worry--she is still with us! She continues as our Learning Specialist and works with girls directly in the classroom setting.

Lake House Academy is a year round therapeutic boarding school for young girls ages 10—14. We provide an environment where young girls can reconnect with their families, establish and maintain academic success, and gain the skills needed to thrive as healthy young women.
