We are pleased to announce that Gerard Jones, a longstanding member of the King George School community, has accepted the position of Head of School. Gerard has been affiliated with the school for the past 4 years as a member of the executive management team. He has provided sage counsel to the past 2 heads of school and is well-acquainted with the mission and the therapeutic program. Gerard is pleased and honored to be leading such a talented and dedicated team of professionals who are facilitating the growth and development of our students and families. We believe that Gerard's knowledge and involvement at King George will ensure a seamless transition in the leadership of the school. The philosophy of the program and the quality of educational and therapeutic services you have come to expect will not change.
For those of you who have not met Gerard, he is a graduate of Franklin & Marshall College where he received degrees in History and Education. He also earned his Juris Doctorate from Vermont Law School. Although not a traditional path to this position, Gerard has always maintained a passion for education and youth. During the past 10 years, he has participated in numerous statewide committees for children with developmental disabilities and as an advocate for educational services and best practices. A considerable focus of his law practice has been disability law, special education and advocacy for children with developmental disabilities.
Gerard will be transitioning into his new role next week and will be contacting you in the upcoming weeks and months. You may reach him at 800-218-5122 or by email at Gerard.Jones@UHSINC.com. We remain grateful for your continuing loyalty and support.
