Julian Youth Academy, a program of Teen Rescue, Inc., which was founded in 1993, is a Christian boarding school for young women, ages 12-17 who may struggle with running away, drug or alcohol abuse, abandonment issues, adoption issues, academic struggles, which may include ADD/ADHD and for those that may have suffered trauma or have been victimized. Teen Rescue is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 corporation and fully accredited as a Christian school with the California Department of Education.

Founder and CEO of Teen Rescue and Julian Youth Academy is Phil Ludwig. Prior to founding JYA, Phil was a police officer in San Diego, CA until he was severely injured while on duty. During his recovery time Phil began his ministry with troubled teens and their families, which developed into Teen Rescue, Inc and eventually the opening of Julian Youth Academy.

Julian Youth Academy offers rolling admissions and a year round academic system, which allows students to start academics upon arrival. Upon enrollment, each student is evaluated and works on an individualized curriculum with staff available to help and tutor as needed.

Julian Youth Academy maintains a Christian foundation and students are not required to become Christians yet will be exposed to Christian beliefs, with many of the events optional for those choosing not to participate.

Recreational activities for the girls include hiking, swimming, whale watching, sports activities and special outings.
