InnerRoads Wilderness Program offers a six week therapeutic placement for adolescents ages 14-17 combining a wilderness expedition with integrated family and community components. InnerRoads works with troubled teenagers who may be struggling with oppositional behaviors, significant loss, attachment difficulties, depression, anxiety, and substance abuse. The program begins with youth embarking on a 30-day backpacking trip through wilderness areas in Montana and Idaho. After the wilderness, youth spend two weeks living in a residential setting, engaging in family work and community-based service projects that help transition the growth made in the wilderness into their families.
The new short adventure program is a backpacking expedition for troubled teens. An emphasis is placed on families who already have or are willing to set-up comprehensive home-based services before our program starts. The adventure program provides a significant therapeutic experience for youth to use as a catalyst to move forward in their process for they return home and continue services.
