On Monday, February 9th, Kathy Donovan, LICSW will join the InnerChange leadership team and become the interim Executive Director at Fulshear Ranch Academy. Kathy will succeed Tracy Schrunk who has served as Fulshear's Executive Director for the past 4 years. "I have had an amazing experience while creating and developing Fulshear," says Ms. Schrunk. "Kathy will have her hands full, but I believe she's the right person for the job."
Kathy brings extensive experience to InnerChange and Fulshear Ranch Academy. Prior to her most recent clinical role as a highly sought after therapist within Second Nature Wilderness Programs, Kathy was a clinical social worker in Washington D.C. where she specialized in treating traumatic stress disorders in adolescent girls and young women. Before working as a therapist, Kathy served as the International Program Director for the YMCA in Japan and as a volunteer for the U.S. Peace Corps in the Philippines.
"We conducted an exhaustive search to find someone capable of carrying on the intensive work we are known for. Kathy brings the perfect blend of relevant experience and leadership skills to InnerChange and Fulshear," comments David Michel, CEO of InnerChange. "She's devoted her life to helping young women recover from all sorts of trauma and grow into healthy independence. Fulshear and Kathy are a perfect match."
"Over the past year, I have referred many girls to Fulshear because of its stellar reputation and approach," says Ms. Donovan. "Tracy and her team have created an amazing program and I am eager to build upon the great work being done at the ranch."
In May of this year, Eilean Mackenzie, LCPC will also join the Fulshear team. After working together with Kathy for a couple of months, Eilean will become the ongoing Executive Director at Fulshear Ranch Academy while Kathy assumes other clinical leadership roles within InnerChange. Eilean brings over twenty-five years of clinical experience in private practice, family counseling and program leadership. Most recently, and for over seven years, Eilean served as the Clinical Director for New Horizons Young Women, a therapeutic outdoor program for at risk girls. Eilean's education includes an M.A. in Counseling Psychology, an M.A. in Sociology, and she was a Clinical Fellow at Harvard Medical School.
