In Balance Advanced ED Re-accreditation

I want to take this opportunity to update you on some exciting things happening at In Balance Ranch Academy. We had a powerful May high school graduation. The speeches the young men gave were thoughtful, eloquent and meaningful and the looks of pride on their parents' faces were beautiful. We are also pleased to announce that Balance Ranch Academy's fully accredited high school, San Pedro Valley Academy, just completed a rigorous re-accreditation process through Advanced Ed, and passed with flying colors. Wendy Morgando, our dedicated teachers, and the entire community worked very hard to make In Balance Ranch Academy a pillar of academic achievement and have done an outstanding job! Here is a quote from our Re-accreditation Report

"The powerful practices recognized by the review team center on the commitment of the organization and the people within it to effectively address the needs of very client. In every interview and throughout all the team's observation, the guiding focus was the well-being of each young man at the ranch. Leadership is a strength throughout the system. The owner/CEO provides clear direction and focus for the organization and hires competent people to implement strategies to meet identified goals. He provides latitude within which professionals can work effectively. The academic director is a knowledgeable, competent professional who possesses the leadership skills necessary to guide her team to high levels of performance. She is an effective manager and an excellent instructional leader. She knows her craft well and knows how to communicate with her staff to move toward excellence."

While In Balance is committed to remaining an excellent academic institution, we are also committed to remaining clinically sophisticated and well-rounded in our approach. A new colleague of ours was chatting with me one day and said, "I always knew In Balance Ranch Academy was where I sent my substance abuse kids, but I had no idea about the depth of clinical services you offer for co-occurring disorders as well." Yes we are a 12-step, positive peer culture based, substance abuse primary therapeutic boarding school. We are also so much more that the world may not know about. Four out of our seven therapists are EMDR certified and can treat trauma. We treat depression, anxiety and personality disorders as well. We have intensive therapeutic specialized groups for depression, trauma, adoption issues, anger management, CBT, DBT, family issues, divorce recovery, relationships, and life transitions. We also utilize equine assisted therapy, advanced horsemanship, experiential adventure based therapy, motivational interviewing, leadership training, wilderness programs, service work, international expeditions and three family weekends per family. Our team is dedicated to providing the best possible services to meet the needs of each and every young man in our program.

In Balance Continuum of Care is a collection of four programs: In Balance Ranch Academy is a 12-Step, Positive Peer Culture based therapeutic boarding school founded in 2004 for boys 13-17-year-old dealing with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. In Balance Transitional Living is an aftercare program located in Central Tucson, AZ designed for 18-23-year-old males in recovery from alcohol or drugs. In Balance Sober Living Experience is designed for young adults and adults who want to use their independence and recovery tools in real life situations with In Balance there to guide and support. In Balance Intensive Outpatient serves adolescents and adults dealing with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders.
