Lucy Pritzker of Scotch Plains has been accepted as an Associate Member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association

The Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA), today announced Lucy Pritzker of Scotch Plains has been accepted as an associate member in the association. IECA associate members are professionals in the process of transitioning to a career in educational consulting. To qualify as an associate member, a consultant must have established an educational consulting practice and have had a minimum of one year's experience in educational placement, counseling, or admissions.

Pritzker has been working as a consultant with special needs families since 2010. Her office is in Scotch Plains, although she works with clients from across the nation. Pritzker is a graduate of SUNY Oneonta. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Education and a Master's in Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in Addictions. Pritzker works primarily with students with mental health issues, behavior problems, autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, learning disabilities and substance abuse.

The IECA was founded in 1976 as a nonprofit, professional association of established educational consultants. IECA member educational consultants are professionals who assist students and families with education decision-making. Their educational backgrounds, specialized training, campus visitations, and professional experience equip them to help students choose schools, colleges, or programs that meet their needs and goals. Professional membership in the association requires an appropriate master's degree or comparable training and a minimum of three years of experience in the profession, as well as meeting IECA's professional standards and subscribing to its Principles of Good Practice. Members continually update their knowledge and maintain skills through IECA sponsored meetings, workshops, training programs and information exchanges with colleges, schools, programs and other consultants.
