Sperry New Chair Of
Hope Renews Parent Support Group

On April 13 the Hope Renews board elected Tracey O'Connell Sperry to be its new president and chairman of the board.

Tracey has kindly agreed to take on this challenge in addition to her day job as National Director of Development and Research of the Scleroderma Foundation headquartered outside of Boston. She brings to the new Hope Renews position five years of experience on our board as vice president in which she helped me to perform a broad range of activities from setting policies and procedures, producing the early newsletters, vetting and approving candidates for Hope Renews grants and loans and offering valued advice to all of us.

Since assuming her new responsibilities, Tracey has already reinvigorated the organization through her work with the fundraising committee and the parent outreach committee.

I know from my years doing this job that it relies heavily on the participation of others to make it a success. We need strong relations with educational consultants, the programs we work with, parents who have had a child in treatment, and the broader public. We cannot be successful in a vacuum.

To that end, I know she and other members of the board will be calling on you for help in identifying folks who care about teens in trouble. We need their assistance in raising funds to help others, especially crucial these days, and offering help to families going through the therapeutic process. Please keep us in mind.

I am staying on the board and will continue to do whatever I can to assure the ongoing success of the organization. We will continue to use the above address for all correspondence.
