Hope Ranch
Hope Ranch, a Christian residential program just outside the small town of Whitefish, Montana, is for girls between the ages of 14-18 years. Hope Ranch utilizes a variety of therapeutic experiences including spiritual development and education, as well as individual and group counseling. The residents learn to “coexist successfully” with roommates while learning life skills and participating in work therapy, as well as assisting in scheduled household chores while living on the “working ranch.”
Hope Ranch uses the holistic healing approach to develop healthy bodies, hearts and minds. Because many of the girls who come to the program have previously been diagnosed with eating disorders and/or are in poor physical health, physical fitness is a large part of the girls’ day. Activities include supervised exercise programs, hiking, swimming, biking, and other outdoor recreation.
A ‘key component” to the girls’ development and healing is Hope Ranch’s outreach program. The students participate in activities and events in association with Youth With a Mission, such as their Abstinence Awareness Training. They share their testimonies with public and private junior and senior high schools, and participate with the Azusa Pacific University to reach out to orphaned children.
All staff members are committed Christians who “help lead the girls to hope and healing that changes their lives and their relationship with Christ.”
