Scott Leshin, Founder and President of SJ Personal Healthcare Advocates, joined Lon Woodbury February 27, 2015 to explain how his business was founded to help parents handle the overwhelming challenge of being able to afford an expensive, private therapeutic boarding school. Working on a contingency basis, Scott explained there are a lot of potential resources for parents such as insurance and school district financing through the Individual Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Furthermore, he added the best way for parents to access these resources is to work with a professional who knows the 'system' (the ins and outs) and how to help them work through the health insurance and education bureaucracies to ensure claims are paid in a timely and accurate manner.
