The Grove School, a co-educational, therapeutic, boarding and day school for adolescents in grades 7-12, is pleased to announce the expansion of its clinical team and welcome Richard O'Sullivan, MD and Jana Weiss Wuerth, APRN, MSN, BC.

Dr. O'Sullivan joins Grove School as a clinical psychiatrist. He holds a BA in Psychobiology with honors from Hamilton College and received his MD from the Medical College of Pennsylvania (now Drexel University College of Medicine) where he was awarded the Baum Memorial Prize in Psychiatry. Dr. O'Sullivan previously served as principal psychiatrist for DMHAS Connecticut Valley Hospital's Whiting Forensic Division and, most recently, as a principal psychiatrist for DMHAS Western Connecticut Outpatient Mental Health Center. He brings more than a decade of clinical experience to Grove School and has served as a guest on ABC's The View and been quoted in the Boston Globe, Boston Herald, and Miami Herald, among other media. He has published several reports on psychiatry and frequently presents at conferences and clinical programs. At Grove School, Dr. O'Sullivan will conduct individual psychotherapy, group therapy and family therapy sessions. He will also spearhead treatment teams and prescribe medication for students.

Wuerth maintains a private therapy practice for adolescents and adults in Guilford, CT and joins Grove School as an APRN. She holds a BS in Nursing from Vanderbilt University and MS in Nursing from Yale School of Nursing. Prior to launching her practice and joining Grove School, Wuerth worked in Yale New Haven Hospital's adolescent and young adult treatment unit and served as a clinical nurse specialist and nurse manager in a satellite clinic of the Connecticut Mental Health Center. At Grove School, Wuerth will guide students through individual psychotherapy sessions in addition to conducting both group and family therapy. She will also spearhead treatment teams and prescribe medications for students.

"The addition of seasoned clinicians, Dr. Richard O'Sullivan and Jana Weiss Wuerth, to our knowledgeable, high level, group of therapists and medication managers, now 16 in number, gives us an impressive array of skills to connect our students with, based on their specific needs," said Richard Chorney, President and CEO, Grove School. "The Grove Program is also a training site for Art Therapy interns, Psychiatry Residents, Social Work interns as well as Student Teachers, in the Education realm. This connection to Academia is another source of pride for Grove School."

At Grove School, clinical services are part of a 'holistic' program that seamlessly integrates college preparatory education and diverse activities with clinical treatment, including leading therapies, to positively impact the lives of adolescents with social, emotional and learning challenges.

The two new additions to its team mark Grove School's second clinical expansion this year. In fall 2010, Grove School added an Art Therapy Program and welcomed a full-time Art Therapist as part of its ongoing commitment to provide students with the best possible treatment.
