May 10, 2010
Kathy Kimmel has submitted her resignation effective mid May. Kathy has been with us for fifteen years and is leaving in order to help care for sick parents effective May 14th, 2010.
During her time at Grove Kathy has done an exceptional job in building our census and establishing significant relationships with referring sources. She has helped build up our referral base so that many more people and programs are aware of what we do and understand our process. Kathy has been a very important asset, as we have grown significantly over the last fifteen years. Her good work has helped to dramatically increase not only our census, but the quality of our intake.
Kathy has also been a major voice for Grove in the therapeutic and educational communities both locally and across the country. She has also been an important part of the Executive Group. There's no question that she will be missed. Perhaps at some point in the future our paths will cross once again.
I personally wish Kathy all the best as she moves forward with the next stages of her life and career and hope that her increased presence at home will make a real difference in the quality of life for her parents.
I also want to share with you what our plans are for the Admissions Department going forward. Kelly Webster, our Associate Director is currently responsible for Community relations as well as Admissions and she will continue to manage that process administratively.
Lauren Seltzer, who has been with us as a Marriage and Family Therapist for five years, will be changing her primary focus and will be the Director of Admissions effective May 15th, 2010, upon Kathy's departure.
Alice Durmmond-Hay, who is currently a Residential Administrator and has been with us for four years, will assist as and Admissions Associate on a part time basis with Kelly and Lauren.
The Admissions role has grown over the years, as has Grove, and fortunately we continue to be very busy. The increase of personnel in this area succeeding Kathy is geared to help address that issue and maintain the timely and professional response that you have all grown used to.
While Kathy's departure is a major change for us we also look forward to the ideas and energy of new people coming into this role.
Should there be any questions, Peter and I will be available, as always, to assist you.
