Matthew Hart, Headmaster and CEO at Greenbrier Academy, a girls boarding school, announces the expansion of their growing team of dedicated staff:

Carole T. Giunta, Ph.D.
Dr. Carole Giunta is a licensed clinical psychologist with more than 20 years experience in assessment and treatment. Throughout her training and professional life, Dr. Giunta has had a strong interest in psychological assessment. It is her commitment to making psychological assessment results accessible and useful which guides the philosophy of her practice. For many years, Dr. Giunta and her associates have been actively involved in helping young people and families understand their strengths and vulnerabilities and discover new paths for healing and learning. Dr. Giunta greatly enjoys the opportunity to work with adolescents and their families.

In addition to her interest in adolescents, Dr. Giunta also conducts evaluations with a broad range of other clients, working closely with attorneys and physicians to facilitate understanding of their clients' mental health and neuropsychological functioning in light of legal or medical problems. She frequently consults on matters of mental health and the law and provides expert witness testimony. Dr. Giunta holds a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Washington and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Vermont.

Dr. Giunta and her associate, Dr. Orth, conduct psychological and psycho educational assessments at Greenbrier Academy. To learn more about services offered, please visit www.giunta-associates.com.

James E. Orth, Ph.D., ABPP
Dr. Jim Orth has enjoyed providing psychological services to children, adolescents and their families for more than 22 years. Board Certified in Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology, he has particular interests in patterns of attachment as manifested throughout development, and in the impact of sensory processing and other areas of self-regulation upon the developing child's abilities to learn, to manage emotions, and to establish and maintain relationships with others. Dr. Orth has published articles regarding regulatory problems in children, psychotherapy, and doctor-patient relationships.

Dr, Orth shares with Giunta and Associates a commitment to high-quality, comprehensive psychological assessments that provide understandable and useful information for teenagers, their families, and those involved in their education and care. Evaluations may help clarify diagnoses, identify strengths and supports, and develop recommendations for treatment and for enhancing development. Dr. Orth draws upon extensive experience evaluating children and adolescents with complex presentations, many of who have received multiple evaluations and treatment efforts yet continue to have major difficulties functioning in different areas of their lives.

Mike Beswick, LICSW, BCD - Therapist
Mike has developed a national reputation for his work in facilitating healing workshops for young people and their families. It is Mike's belief that the solutions to many adolescent issues are best addressed through working with the entire family system, and he utilizes innovative methods to assist young women in coming to an understanding of the intent of their parent's actions. Mike was interested in a girls boarding school, and came to Greenbrier Academy out of recognition that it is one of the few places where young women's "problems" are viewed contextually; their negative actions were their attempts to find acceptance, or relief from pain.

Mike brings a wealth of experience to his work at Greenbrier Academy including advanced training in psychodrama, numerous years of working with students and families regarding significant substance abuse issues, guided imagery, and experiential therapy and facilitating nearly 1000 intensive family workshops. He's listed in the Cambridge Registry of Who's Who in America.

Chantal Desloges - Therapist
Chantal received her B.A. in English from the University of North Carolina Wilmington and graduated from the University of San Francisco with an M.A. in Counseling Psychology. She has worked with children, adolescents and families, providing individual, group and family counseling from a strength-based, experiential, cognitive-behavioral, person-centered and family systems perspective. Chantal has spent time as both a school based counselor and a wilderness/adventure therapist. "The best part for me about being here at Greenbrier is the warmth and sincerity of the community."

Sara Hunter - Therapist
Sara comes to Greenbrier Academy with a lifelong dedication to experiential education and family counseling. Sara earned B.A. degrees in Communications and Recreational Management from Davis & Elkins College and her M.A. in Mental Health Counseling from Southwestern College in Santa Fe NM. Sara possesses certifications in Somatic Therapy and Eco-Psychology and is a member of the National American Art Therapy Association.

What drew Sara to, and keeps her here at Greenbrier Academy is the opportunity to honor each child's potential, journey and uniqueness. "This is truly a wonderful experience for me. The community atmosphere and authentic relationships that are generated in this setting inspire me daily. "

Les Call - Human Resources Director
Les arrived at the Greenbrier Academy with more than 10 years of experience working in Human Resources. Les earned his B.S. in Resource and Technology Management with an emphasis in Human Resource Management from Troy State University. Les spent 13 years serving in the U.S. Army where he travelled the world. "My military service has taken me to the ends of the earth, but I learned more about myself and what it means to be part of a community while deployed in Iraq than of any other life experience to date."

Rachel Call - Director of Food Services and Management
Rachel joins the Greenbrier Academy team with over 25 years of experience in the culinary world. Her experience began as a prep cook at age 16 where she developed a more complete menu for the Twin Falls Idaho Country Club. In addition, Rachel has dedicated many years teaching and mentoring youth on not only how to cook, but on the unique history behind many of the country's most famous meals. Rachel's gifted heart, compassion, and mentorship abilities are creating strong relationships and wonderful memories for all of Greenbrier Academy's young women and staff.

Matt says, "We are so pleased to have these talented additions to our team at Greenbrier. Each one of these individuals brings their own expertise and commitment to our campus. Our students, families, consultants and current staff will all benefit from the knowledge being added to our on-going quest to maintain excellent program integrity while offering numerous ancillary activities for our girls."
