Changes School's Mission

Since 1831, Grand River Academy has been known as a school with a unique mission. Over the past 20 years, the support of the consultant community has been a valued part of our referrals. Please read the following and feel free to contact us with any questions.

Recently our Board of Trustees was approached with a proposal to collaborate with the GaREAT Sports Complex (http://gareat.org/)located four miles from our campus. When a planned natatorium is complete, GaREAT will have 975,000 square feet of multipurpose sports facilities on their grounds, and will be the largest indoor athletic complex in the world.

Last Friday our Trustees unanimously agreed to work toward a merger with this non-profit sports facility, with the goal of creating a sports academy beginning in September of 2011. The Board knows this opportunity will not only change the course of Grand River Academy, but it will also solidify our future. Our mission will obviously change, our name will be altered; we will be co-ed, and the sports academy will eventually grow to 500 students.

In preparation for the next school year, we have chosen to immediately cease rolling admissions. We will be re-enrolling our current students; however, our focus is shifting to fall enrollment.
