The Gestalt Equine Institute of the Rockies combines the passion for Gestalt therapy and horses in a Gestalt-based equine-assisted psychotherapy training program. This comprehensive 2-year training program is designed to teach equine-assisted psychotherapy from a Gestalt perspective. The training is for mental health therapists or other allied professionals in the human development field. It is ideal for those interested in incorporating an experiential component into their practice or organization.
Participants will meet each quarter for a 4-day training in Golden, CO and gain an understanding of the therapist-client-horse relationship, and competency in the essential concepts and experiential process of Gestalt therapy and horsemanship. Participants will become certified as a Gestalt Equine Therapist if they currently hold a mental health degree. Participants will be required to learn basic knowledge of horses including safety, herd behavior, natural horsemanship, ground work, riding, and health care.
This is a rolling admissions program, so new participants can join any weekend through out the 2 year program.
