We are very pleased to announce the addition of Carrie Shoumatoff as Admission Director for Gateway Academy. Prior to working at Gateway, Carrie worked as the Admissions Director for Oakley School. Carrie describes her time at Oakley as one that "truly provided a space for me to grow and learn both personally and professionally. "
Carrie's experience, enthusiasm and understanding will provide our families the support and guidance they need as they navigate their way through the difficult process of choosing a placement for their son. Carrie is excited by the opportunity to work with a smaller program that recognizes the importance of teaming the family with all current and former treating professionals in assessing a child's need for placement. In learning and understanding Gateway applicants, Carrie truly values her relationship with educational consultants, wilderness and treatment center therapists, and other treating professionals.
Gateway is dedicated to the healthy development and healing of adolescent boys, founded on a treatment approach that creates positive and sustainable outcomes. We also believe in a transparent and open admission process where all questions are welcomed and decisions are explained with utmost clarity.
Gateway Academy is a residential treatment program for underachieving teenage boys ages 14-17 struggling with depression, anxiety, executive functioning problems, unresolved trauma, impulsivity and attention problems, social problems, diminished self-esteem, oppositional behaviors, substance abuse, difficulties at home, relationship problems, identity and developmental issues, academic deficits, and other comparable difficulties.
