Gale Standen-Earl, Founder & CEO
Gatehouse is a “unique, comprehensive recovery community, combining living skills, training, therapy, school and outdoor activities on one campus.” It emphasizes a behavior changing method the founders, Gale and Ted Earl, have developed to challenge young adults aged seventeen and older, to grow and accept responsibility for their lives. Gatehouse is designed to benefit those who are currently searching for substance abuse or drug addiction treatment, a 12-step program, drug rehabilitation, a residential treatment facility, or a sober living environment.
This residential living community fosters “life and social skills amidst a therapeutic and education-based environment in order to help adults working or starting in recovery to transition to successful living. There is a minimum three-month commitment, with an average one year length of stay.”
Gale and Ted Earl have “over 30 combined years of experience in the operation of recovery and treatment programs, and have designed this doctor-managed program as a unique 12-step community that provides psychiatric support for residents in need of ongoing medication management. It is located within walking distance from Wickenburg, Arizona, which is recognized as an established healing center with three separate behavioral health treatment facilities, a hospital, independent therapists and numerous 12-step meetings.
Gatehouse is licensed by the State of Arizona as a residential living community. In conjunction with Rio Salado College, residents are offered the on-campus opportunity to further their education. Horseback riding, hiking, nature study and animal observation are also offered as part of their program.
