Foundation House is an extended care sober living program for young men that includes a full spectrum of 12-Step, Holistic, Athletic, Art, Music, LADC, and Wilderness Therapies. Most of the clinical staff have worked for the top wilderness programs in the country and understand the wilderness process firsthand. Due to this vast experience in wilderness settings and in real long-term recovery, the staff is able to utilize day to day events therapeutically.
Patrick Babcock, Founder, CEO and Executive Director, has trained under licensed alcohol & chemical dependency professionals since 2001. He specializes in Motivational Interviewing, PTSD, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Life Skills Mentorship. John Boler, COO, joined the Foundation House team to assist in the day-to-day and long-term operations of the organization, ensuring that the staff always has the resources required to provide the best program of recovery and lifelong sobriety. Carsten McCarter, LADC, is the Clinical Supervisor. He found his passion for helping others with addiction while an intern at Wilderness Treatment Center in 1995, and helped to develop wilderness programming while he was in school.
The homes are fully furnished, with a family-oriented environment. The focus is on helping the individual use sober life skills training and build a strong foundation for their recovery. Residents attend regular community 12-step meetings, house meetings and process groups, as well as individual and group therapy sessions weekly. They choose to either work, attend school or volunteer during the day. Recreational sports and outdoor activities are included as part of the treatment plan. Foundation House provides a bridge between treatment and living life clean and sober. It emphasizes structure, dignity, integrity, motivation, commitment, discipline, accountability and effort for those in early recovery.
