Forging Futures announced its national launch today after six months of providing service in the greater Pittsburgh area.
"Our rapid growth confirms what we suspected-families desperately need treatment support and don't know where to turn," said Susan Weiner, founder and CEO. "So we've expanded our services to accept clients nationally."
After two decades working as a foreign-exchange trader, advertising specialty executive, non-profit CEO (founder, Tickets for Kids Charities), and mother of two, Susan found herself itching for her next challenge. "I care about my community and I like starting things," she said. "So when I saw this incredible void of therapeutic support for families in crisis, I wanted to do something."
Susan collaborated with a team of therapists, educational consultants, educators-and even legal advocates and financial planners-to create a hybrid model of therapeutic advisory services. Family systems therapy, placement advice, addictions intervention, and aftercare services are fragmented and hard to navigate, says Susan. Forging Futures is designed to bring these services under one roof.
"Our services are truly comprehensive," said Forging Futures' family advisor, Amanda Thomas, "and include whatever the family needs to successfully navigate the treatment process. Any services we can't provide in-house we offer through our national network of programs and affiliates. We help families find their way forward when they don't even know where to start."
Amanda, a therapist with fifteen years of clinical experience with teens and families, says that she joined Forging Futures because of its emphasis on, "professional collaboration and transparency. We're always seeking the absolute best services for our families, which requires an open, highly collaborative approach."
"I love every minute of this," said Susan of her new venture. "As a mother whose own family took a winding journey from crisis to healing, I want to help other families find a straighter path. Hope is out there; our mission is to help people find it sooner. It's simply the best thing I've been a part of."
Forging Futures is a provider of therapeutic advisement and support for families with a struggling teen or young adult.
