A part of the Summer Passion Projects Curriculum at Fire Mountain, the boys chose to build a 16 ft. skate ramp.
Passion Projects aim to reignite a love of learning and enhance abilities in the areas of inspiration, focus and completion. Past projects have included a garden irrigation system, The Civil War, Reiki and more. The skate ramp was particularly successful in these areas as well as an added skill- teamwork.
"These boys are SO capable, and were SO committed to this project. I am SO impressed! The only supervision they needed was safety related. They built it together, got along and finished in two days." - Aaron Huey, President. Next up as far as Passion Projects? One residents plans: "I am thinking of building a storage rack for our skateboards and helmets. I saw one up at Eagle Rock School a few weeks ago."
