The year-round academic program at the Family Foundation School in Hancock, NY, previously comprised of two 25-week semesters, now consists of two 21-week semesters and a six-week summer session.

According to FFS Academic Dean, Gerald Janauer, PhD, the change was prompted by revisions to the New York State Board of Regents examination schedule and offers FFS students a chance to catch up and complete an entire Regents course in six weeks if necessary.

Other students can take advantage of a dozen special academic electives and character-building activities, from Civil War history and a Jungian Concepts and Dream seminar, to basketball and soccer camp.

The school will continue to graduate students twice annually, but will shift the mid-year graduation from December to January.

The Family Foundation School is a private, therapeutic boarding school for teens at risk, serving grades 9 through 12.
