A recent restructuring of the co-ed campus families at The Family Foundation School has resulted in three all-boy and one all-girl houses.

According the Dean of Students, Ann Janauer, PhD, single-sex houses will enable students to more comfortably explore and discuss sensitive issues with their campus families, and eliminate the distractions of the opposite sex as they pursue their personal goals.

The school will remain co-ed in its classes and its extracurricular and recreational activities to help foster heathy social interaction and development between the sexes.

In addition, Cindy Ray Argiros, FFS journalism teacher and publisher of The Family Times student newspaper, announced the launch of The Family Times online in January.

The digital edition replaces the print version of the 14-year old, award-winning monthly, known for its in-depth coverage of school and community issues. The final edition was published in December and mailed to a subscriber list of 8,000 parents, alumni, friends, and Hancock residents. The online version, updated daily by the students, will be supplemented by a printed quarterly newsletter beginning in March 2013.

Family Foundation School is a private, therapeutic boarding school for teens at risk, serving grades 9 through 12.
