Explorations Announces Opening
Of The Denman Guest Cabin

Explorations is pleased to announce the opening of the Denman Guest Cabin at their facility. The 750 square foot log cabin provides a mountain retreat for visiting parents, consultants, and alumni. Situated just 100 yards from the main residence, the log cabin sleeps four with a full bath, loft, fireplace, and sitting porch. Students assisted in the construction of the cabin as well as the adjacent campfire pit and seating area. Visitors may be immersed in daily activities or be provided a beautiful private space in which to spend time with their child.

Explorations' Director, Penny James, said that the cabin was named in honor of Dave Denman, a consultant from the San Francisco area who was instrumental in assisting her and co-founder Lorne Riddell during the development of Explorations in the early 90s. James stated, "Dave's commitment to experiential education and his support of our idea for a family-based program remains an important part of the Explorations story. His encouragement to think 'out of the box' and his challenge to us to follow our passion and provide families unique opportunities for change was a gift. His collaborative nature and dedication to teaching kids and families in non-traditional ways are at the core of what I hope happens every day at Explorations. The Denman Guest Cabin seemed the perfect kind of thank you for the years of David's support, wisdom, and friendship. "

Twenty-three years later, Explorations continues to serve families in unique residential and outdoor environments in northwestern Montana.
