Introduces Parent Coaching

Expedition Therapy proudly announces the introduction of Parent Coaching services for their students' families.

"We are excited to be the first primary outdoor adventure expedition experience for young adults to include Parent Coach Professionals as a key support for the parents of our students," said Beth J. Fogel, Expedition Therapy Creative Strategist. "Many parents struggle with their own anxiety and various changes that accompany their young adult son or daughter 's move toward independence."

Expedition Therapy includes eight coaching sessions for parents with Parent Coach Professionals. Parents benefit from receiving unconditional support, encouragement, guidance and peace of mind while learning communication and relationship building skills. Parent Coaches support the "letting go" process for parents, allowing space for healthy young adult development. Parent Coaching guides parents with establishing boundaries as well as key components of learning how to develop healthy adult son/daughter-parent relationships.

Parent Coaching provides opportunities for parents to develop a new role when their young adult son or daughter experiences challenges coping with difficult situations. The parent coach provides support and encouragement during this demanding process. As a result, the entire Family System grows together.

Parent Coaching Professionals use a cooperative approach with parents and Expedition Therapy Clinicians to:

• Initiate, design, and implement a plan to address immediate concerns
• Provide insight into the emerging young adult life stage transition process
• Instill increased confidence in parenting a young adult son or daughter
• Support the work of ETA, LLC, with their young adults and their parents
• Develop more effective boundaries and assertive communication skills
• Deliver insightful support and an airtight strategy during transition times
• Provide individualized, ongoing teaching and educational tools for parents
