Expedition Therapy proudly announces that it has been granted membership in the Outdoor Behavioral Health Council.

The Outdoor Behavioral Healthcare (OBH) Council (obhcouncil.com) is an organization of wilderness and outdoor programs committed to the use of outdoor environments for behavioral healthcare to assist young people and their families in making positive changes in their lives and relationships. The organization and its member programs have been instrumental in raising the bar for wilderness treatment, working together to share best practices, engage in research and promote treatment excellence.

"We are extremely gratified to be accepted as a member of the OBH Council," said Aaron Wilson, Executive Director. "This validation by our peers confirms that Expedition Therapy truly is the next generation of therapeutic outdoor adventure experience."

"Expedition Therapy was created to provide young adults with an intensive expedition-centered and relationship-based experience that focuses on hands-on learning, building confidence and self-understanding," stated Beth Fogel, Primary Therapist. "The spectacular outcomes and positive changes we see in our students inspire us to continuously improve the quality and variety of our expedition offerings. We currently offer Rock Climbing, Canyoneering, Cultural Exploration, Take Flight, Service Projects, Custom Family Expeditions, Wilderness Advanced First Aid and SCUBA Certifications, and more."

"We look forward to adding our very high proportion of favorable outcomes to the OBH Council's research database, as we do our part to advance the state of the art in the world of experiential therapeutic outdoor adventure," added Raini Knaeble, Expedition Therapy Primary Therapist. "Our Total Therapeutic Team Approach, which continuously integrates our therapeutic strengths into our students' daily expedition curriculum, is a major factor in these outcomes."
