Elk River
Celebrates Five Years

Karen Lee, President and CEO of the Pinnacle Schools, proudly announces that Elk River celebrated its 5 year anniversary on January 24. They opened the campus with its first resident which they are still in contact with. Today this young man is 19 years old, attending college and doing very well. To date, Elk River Treatment Program has cared for 367 adolescents.

What began as a single outdoor therapeutic program for "troubled teens" in 2005 with only five employees has evolved and grown into four separate and distinct programs. The programs we now offer are Elk River Treatment Program - Therapeutic Intervention Program (8 weeks), Elk River Academy - Individualized Transitional Therapeutic School (flexible length of stay up to one year), Elk River Healthy Lifestyles -Teen Weight Management Program (8 weeks), and Pinnacle Academic Resource Center - A Private Year Round High School and College Resource Program in Huntsville, Alabama. Each program is designed to meet the individual needs of the teen and their family.

Elk River is an adolescent residential program of The Pinnacle Schools. This short-term therapeutic program is a medical model providing diagnostic, assessment and treatment services on a base campus. Elk River is proud to be a contracted provider for Value Options Commercial Insurance Company, specializing in behavior health.
