Elements Welcomes Neal Christensen

Dear Colleague:

Elements Wilderness Program is thrilled to welcome Neal Christensen, PhD, LP, as the newest member of our clinical team! Neal is a recognized leader in the wilderness-treatment community and comes to Elements with extensive experience as a wilderness field therapist, primary therapist, and clinical director.

"I have always admired Elements' strong clinical program and I'm delighted to begin working with such a great team," Neal told us after accepting his new position as primary therapist at Elements. "I also look forward to diving into Elements' new adventure-based therapy component; it's a fantastic program for fostering engagement in boys who have struggled with substance abuse and complex mental health issues."

Neal specializes in treating and supervising clinically complex cases. He has worked extensively with adolescent males struggling with substance abuse, cognitive development issues, trauma, and/or emerging personality dynamics.

While serving as the clinical director for a wilderness-based treatment program, Neal always carried his own caseload and engaged directly with his team on all cases. This hands-on, highly collaborative style of clinical leadership is very much in keeping with our approach at Elements and is the reason we intentionally keep our program small.

Originally from Kansas, Neal now lives with his wife and two children in Salt Lake City, where he enjoys easy access to his passion for outdoor adventure.
