Gatehouse Academy, an addiction rehabilitation facility for young adults, is proud to announce today's appointment of Ed Lacy to the post of CEO. Ed holds almost 30 years of experience in the addictions and eating disorder treatment field where he has served both as clinician and administrator to treatment centers both nationally and internationally.
As a retired U.S. Marine, Ed serviced as the Administrator of the U.S. Navy Drug and Alcohol Counselor School, Director of Curriculum, Australian Institute for Counseling in Addictions, was selected to start up Oceanica Alcohol and Drug Treatment program in Mazatlan, Mexico incorporating the Betty Ford Center model of treatment. Ed went on to build Avalon, Centro de Tratamiento para la Mujer, in Mexico City, and establish Avalon as Latin America's first inpatient Drug, Alcohol, and eating disorder treatment center exclusively for women and their families.
"Ed completely understands the direction we want to be going," says Gatehouse Academy Founder, Ted Earl. "I speak on behalf of the Board of Directors when I say, We are entirely confident that he is the man for the job; his extensive experience in the industry is why we chose him to be our commander in chief."
Lacy will be challenged with taking Gatehouse into its next phase. "It's been almost 9 years since the conception that is now Gatehouse Academy," says Kent Sherman, Managing Partner. "I think Ed will create the quality control procedures necessary for our next period of growth. He knows what it takes to get things running at maximum efficiency. This is a really exciting time for the entire company."
