This past semester Eckerd Academy of the Blue Ridge Students and their parents had great reason to be happy. You see, 15 of the 17 students achieved Honor Roll status. Two students were named to the A Honor Roll. Eight students achieved A/B Honor Roll status and 5 students were named to the B Honor Roll. All of the staff and parents are very proud of the students' accomplishments, and this achievement is a direct reflection on the hard work of the Education department. At EABR, students attend school 5 days a week, and their academic goals are woven into treatment planning where they assume equal importance with clinical goals.
"This is the first time in my life I have ever made all A's," revealed Grant F. "I guess I really never put in my best effort, but working with Ms. Amanda and the rest of the staff, I can see my confidence growing, and learning isn't all that bad!"
Taylor B., the other A Honor Roll student, had a hard time at home with school, frequently skipping school, not getting out of bed to go to school, and failing all her subjects. "Now school is the part of my day I look forward to the most," related Taylor.
For next semester, each of the students at EABR has pledged to do his or her best and make the A Honor Roll a goal.
