Echo Malibu, a premier residential treatment program for adolescents, today announced the appointments of Alonso Dominguez, M.A., to Executive Director and Karen Rubenstein, M.A., MFT, to Clinical Director. Dominguez and Rubenstein succeed co-founders Jeff Nalin and Cole Rucker.

"I am excited and honored to be stepping into the role of Executive Director," said Dominguez. "I have worked with Cole and Dr. Nalin for more than a dozen years and take great comfort in knowing that Echo and I have their full support for continued success."

Dominguez adds that he "will do all that I can to preserve and build on what they created by continuing our unique approach of helping youth find recovery through empowerment."

Dominguez is the former Assistant Program Director for Echo Malibu, and is a certified 12-step counselor who has been working with youth and families for over 15 years. Previously, he coordinated treatment for the Los Angeles Superior Court's San Fernando Valley Juvenile Drug Court Program. He also has served as the manager of the largest outpatient youth treatment program in Southern California. Dominguez holds a Masters of Arts degree in counseling psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Gonzaga University.

Rubenstein has been a therapist for Echo Malibu for three years. She is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, with counseling experience at the Los Angeles Unified School District; a domestic violence shelter and the California Family Counseling Center. Rubenstein holds a Masters of Arts degree in Psychology from Phillips Graduate Institute.
"We have great confidence in the future of Echo Malibu," said Barry Karlin, CEO of CRC Health Group, Echo Malibu's parent company. "Jeff and Cole did a tremendous job building this program into a premier adolescent treatment center, and their legacy of compassionate treatment and individual empowerment will continue with Alonso and Karen."

Echo Malibu provides state-of-the-art, comprehensive, holistic treatment for adolescents struggling with drug and alcohol abuse and emotional and behavioral challenges. Program participants are provided with an individualized treatment plan that focuses on physical, emotional, social, family and spiritual health, as well as educational needs. Each treatment plan is designed and implemented by licensed clinical professionals to identify and treat the underlying causes of addiction rather than merely focusing on the behaviors that result from addiction.

"It has been a great privilege to be a part of Echo and the lives of the families that we have served," said Rucker. "I have every confidence that Echo's new management team will not only maintain, but enhance the exceptional quality of services provided."

Echo Malibu is a member of CRC Health Group, the most comprehensive network of specialized behavioral care services in the nation. CRC offers the largest array of personalized treatment options, allowing individuals, families, and professionals to choose the most appropriate treatment setting for their behavioral, addiction, weight management and therapeutic education needs. CRC is committed to making its services widely and easily available, while maintaining a passion for delivering advanced treatment. For over two decades, CRC programs have helped individuals and families reclaim and enrich their lives.
