Mike Wagner headed a community support project in conjunction with Debbie L. and her culinary students to support the Relay for Life in Pittsfield on June 18-19. They created their own relay team: Team Imagine, and made a cake to support the "Cruisin' for A Cure" themed fundraiser dinner. The donated "cake" was shaped like a cruise ship and made of gluten and dairy free rice crispy treats. It was decorated by the students with edible figurines made from fondant and even a pool made from edible markers. The 45-pound "Cruise Cake" was used as the centerpiece at the dessert table and fed about 300 people.

At Eagleton, we're proud of our Culinary Program and the way it feeds and nurtures our students - both through food and exciting, hands-on learning opportunities.
Eagleton School believes in giving our students the tools to become well-rounded adults. That means helping them care for their bodies as well as their minds by helping them receive the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.

That's why Eagleton School offers the culinary program as a part of our student's Eagleton experience. The Culinary Program not only focuses on providing fresh, healthy and tasty food for our students, but also provides them the opportunity to participate in cooking as a Pre-Vocational course. While some of our students go on to college, some of them prefer to go into a trade, and we want our students to be prepared for whatever awaits them after Eagleton. Our Culinary Program provides a solid foundation of food knowledge and preparation whether they decide to work in the food industry someday, or just want to be able to cook for themselves and their family.

On June 24th, the students and Debbie L. were presented with Certificates and T-Shirts from the American Cancer Society to show their thanks and appreciation.
