We are also pleased to announce that we have a new marketing representative, Lu Ann Peckenpaugh. Lu Ann brings to Distant Drums a diverseness of experience. She is a graduate of Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management and a minor in Psychology.

Until January, 2007, Lu Ann was employed by Chase Bank, Indianapolis, for 19 years. She was an Operations Officer for 10 years and was the Indianapolis Coordinator/Facilitator of the Chase Leadership Academy for 5 years. While working at the Operations Center, Lu Ann assisted the Community Affairs department by setting up community events for the operations employees. The Operations Center employees were encouraged to give back to their communities through food drives, United Way events, the purchasing of Christmas gifts for the less fortunate. Purchasing school supplies for low income families, and enlisting volunteers to work on the bank sponsored Habitat for Humanity home.

Lu Ann's greatest passion was working with the Chase Leadership Academy students. She partnered with 2 area high schools, Big Brothers, Big Sisters, of Central Indiana, Indiana University, Perdue University at Indianapolis, and USA Funds to make the Indianapolis Academy one of the most successful Leadership Academy's at Chase Bank. During each session the students were mentored by bank employees, while Lu Ann facilitated sessions of life skills, job skills, and financial literacy. Through the partnerships, Lu Ann was able to provide the students with several opportunities to continue their learning skills through college education.

Please extend a welcome to Lu Ann. She is excited and anxious to meet each of you and provide you with assistance through the Distant Drums program.
