Chris Yates, Executive Director of the Discovery School of VA is pleased to announce that Alison Forman has joined the Discovery School team as a Family Worker. Alison graduated from the University of Virginia with a BS in psychology.

If the last name seems familiar to you, you are correct. She is the daughter of Mike Forman. Mike, as many of you know, worked many years at New Dominion School as a Family Worker and in Admissions. Mike is now providing the same services for the Discovery School. He is happy to have his daughter join the team. When applying for the position Alison shared that for years, she and her Dad have talked about the work he is doing with the students and their families. She commented she knows that The Discovery School is a collaborative environment where Family Workers get the guidance and support they need while being encouraged to challenge themselves. In particular Alison pointed out that this is a chance for her grow professionally and personally while helping others.

The Discovery School of Virginia serves teenage boys and girls ages 11 - 17 who are experiencing emotional, behavioral, and learning problems. There are separate campuses for boys and girls. Each school is located in the picturesque Piedmont region of central Virginia.
