Daytop New Jersey offers comprehensive substance abuse treatment and education programs to male and female adolescents, and young adults. Adolescent programs emphasize completion of education goals and the program is authorized as an alternative to court mandated adolescent incarceration. The full day programs include middle school, high school, and GED (General Equivalency Diploma) test preparation. Outpatient locations are in Morris and Hunterdon while residential locations are in Mendham, Pittsgrove, and Crawford House.

Founder Reverend Joseph H. Hennen opened Daytop New Jersey in 1991. He is a graduate of Catholic University of America (BA and STB), St. Francis College (MS) and the College of New Rochelle, and has more than 30 years of experience with adolescents with drug and alcohol issues. Father Hennen is an ordained Roman Catholic Priest and holds a School Psychologist Permanent Certificate, is a Licensed Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor. President and Chief Executive Officer James P. Curtin has worked at Daytop Village for the past twenty-five years. He is a graduate of SUNY NY and has an MBA with a license to provide substance abuse counseling in the State of New Jersey. Chief Operating Officer Ian Gershmann opened the South Jersey facility in Pittsgrove in 2004. With a MBA from Regis University and a Master of Arts in Education and Counseling from Hull University in the UK , Mr. Gershman has eighteen years of experience working in substance abuse treatment services.

Daytop NJ is an adolescent substance abuse treatment program with a full all-day school component. It is CARF accredited, a member of the Association of Recovery Schools and the school is licensed by the state of NJ and can serve both regular and special education middle and high school aged students. Length of stay is typically 6 months (or longer as needed), and its $9,000/month cost (all inclusive) can be paid for through a combination of insurance, private pay, school district funding and sliding scale financial assistance.
