Daniels Academy is proud to announce that Melanie Bosworth has joined our team in the role of nurse and medical coordinator.
Melanie Bosworth, RN, has affectionately been called Nurse Melanie for so many years that even her children sometimes have wondered if that was part of her official name!
Melanie joins Daniels Academy with an extensive background of psychiatric and emergency knowledge ranging over 30 years.
"It's amazing the extent of her knowledge and experience. She has been a great support for our students and their families. She's like a second mother for all of us," said Dr. Whiting, Executive Director, of Daniels Academy.
As the District Supervisor and EMTA for the North Summit Ambulance since 1980--there isn't much she hasn't seen or handled in the emergency field. Her nursing experience started in 1976 as a brand new nurse in a 12 bed rural hospital, to an office nurse, Home Care/Hospice, Home Care Branch Manager, Nursing Director Oakley School, to her now dream job of working with the amazing young men of Daniels Academy.
Melanie works from the premise of being a mom first and a nurse second. She loves the opportunity to care for adolescents in particular.
"Melanie has really opened her heart to our son and our family. We are grateful she is at Daniels Academy and supporting us," said a Daniels Academy family.
Melanie and her husband Arnie have been married for 35+ years and are proud parents of 4 adult children--1 daughter and 3 sons--and even prouder to be called Grandma and Grandpa to 3 beautiful granddaughters and a robustly active grandson.
Melanie's favorite ways to spend her spare time is riding off into the sunset with her handsome prince on their frequent Harley road trips and of course spoiling her grandkids.
