Cumberland Heights is excited to announce that popular band The Fray will perform at the annual Concert for Cumberland Heights Tuesday, September 13 at 8:00 p.m. at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium.
The Concert for Cumberland Heights benefits the John Hiatt Fund for Adolescent Treatment, making The Fray's appearance especially relevant and poignant. The band is perhaps best known for its chart-topping single, "How to Save a Life." According to lead singer Isaac Slade, the song was inspired and influenced by an encounter with a troubled addicted teen.
Fifteen years ago, John Hiatt committed to helping chemically dependent adolescents, ages 13-18, by raising funds through the Concert for Cumberland Heights.
Says Dean Porterfield, Clinical Director for Adolescent Treatment, "Chemical addiction is a primary and progressive disease that can be arrested with treatment, and the pronounced progression seen in young people can be stemmed. Over the years this fund has helped provide facilities, programs and treatment for teens who otherwise would not have the opportunity for recovery. We at Cumberland Heights are fortunate to be part of such a supportive and generous community."
Cumberland Heights is a not for profit corporation committed to the tradition of providing the highest quality care possible, in a cost effective manner, for persons and their families who are at risk for, or who are suffering from the disease of chemical dependency.
